As expected, hosts, the Atlas Lions of Morocco and Senegal’s Teranga Lions on Friday evening sealed their places in the semi-finals of this year’s TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (Morocco 2025) following their entertaining quarter-final victories.
The Atlas Lions roared past Cameroon with a convincing 2-0 win at the sold-out Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat to secure their place with Brahim Diaz once again coming up a brilliant performance
Focused on their hunt for second AFCON title, the Moroccans scored in either half through Brahim Díaz in the 26th minute and Ismail Saibari in the 74th minute to seal a memorable triumph in front of their boisterous supporters as they keep alive hopes of winning the title on home soil.
They will now take on the winner between Algeria and Nigeria in the last four stage of this year’s tournament.

On their part, Senegal secured the semi-final berth after edging past Eagles of Mali 1–0 in a tense West African derby.
The decisive moment came in the first half, when Iliman Ndiaye struck clinically to give the Lions of Teranga a lead they would protect with composure and authority till the end.
The two remaining quarter-final matches take place today (Saturday) to decide which two countries also make it to the last four of Africa’s flagship football event.
The Pharaohs of Egypt are facing current title holders, Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire after Nigeria trade tackles with Algeria in the other tough quarter-final game holding earlier today.
