Air Force Aircraft Crash: One Of The Pilots Passes On

One of the Nigerian Air Force pilots that was involved in the ill-fated crash that involved two aircraft on Friday September 28, 2018 in Abuja during the Independence day parade rehearsal, has passed on some hours after the crash.

He is Squadron Leader Mohammed Bello Baba-Ari that was involved in the two F7 Ni fighters AC which had head on collision with each other.

Two of the pilots were able to eject while the third pilot was unable to eject and died later. The two pilots that ejected successfully are Squadron Leader Abatuba and Flight Lt Ambi.

Announcing the death of the Baba-Ari, the Director, Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola said; “It is with a heavy heart that I regretfully announce that one of the pilots who successfully ejected from one of the F-7Ni aircraft that crashed earlier today has passed on.

“May his soul RIP. Additional details on the incident will be communicated later. Thank you”.
