Boko Haram: Army Launches Mobile Strike Team in Borno

BY AMOS DUNIA, ABUJA – The Theatre Commander of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, on Tuesday launched the Mobile Strike Teams (MST) at the Military Command and Control Centre, Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Speaking during the formal launch of the MST, General Attahiru said the teams were specially selected forces with mixed equipment and platforms to achieve the conduct of long range patrols and ambushes deep into the hinterland.

The Theatre Commander urged the teams to be discipline, confident, resolute, focused and determined in their efforts aimed at clearing the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists wherever they are found.

The MST were trained at the Nigerian Army School of Special Forces (NASFS), Buni Yadi, Yobe State, with a task of keeping the main supply routes of Boko Haram and all rural settlements safe.
