Buhari Extends Joseph Ari’s Tenure As ITF Boss

BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, has expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for reappointing Sir Joseph Ari as Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF).

The presidential endorsement is for another four year term and some industry stakeholders have described the development as a reward for hard word and the visionary leadership brought to the Fund by Sir Ari

The tenure renewal approval is conveyed in a letter to the Minister by the Chief of Staff to Mr President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari and dated July 16, 2020.

A statement by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, who acknowledged the development, congratulated Ari for his well deserved reappointment.

Sani-Gwarzo therefore urged him to consolidate on the achievements and successes so far recorded by the Fund in order to further consolidate on effective service delivery and realization of President Buhari-led administration’s Next Level agenda on job creation and youth empowerment in the country.

Sir Ari was first appointed as the ITF’s Director General in 2016 for an initial four year period. His reappointment is therefore expected to take effect from September 26, 2020
