BY ADEYEMI AKANJI – Bauchi State has recorded another death from COVID-19 infection related complications.
This brings the number of death so far recorded in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic to 13.
Based on information from the Bauchi COVID-19 situation report, 12 more persons have fully recovered and discharged after their second tests returned negative.
The report further contained that three new cases were reported after five consecutive days of being free from any case as at Wednesday, July 8, 2020 while nine patients are presently on the list of current active cases in the state.
It further stated that as of July 8, 2020, with an increase in death, the State total deaths reached 13, while the Case Fatality Rate stands at 2.5%.
The report states; “So far, 3,479 samples had been investigated out of which 519 persons were reported to have tested positive to COVID-19 infection and out of the figure, already 497 persons have been discharged from the hospital after they fully recovered.
“The state response teams are always ever ready to accordingly act in a most professional ways needed. We should help to ease their work by ensuing we maintain personal hygiene and other safety measures”.
With the recent development, the total number of confirmed cases in the state so far is 519 while the total number of people so far on hospital’s admission stands at nine.
