The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Europe will face rising death figures from the coronavirus (COVID-19) during autumn.
This is as worldwide cases of the deadly virus infections are fast approaching the 30 million mark.
WHO’s Regional Office for Europe told Deutche Welle, “We expect an increase of COVID-19 cases, which sadly means more cases of death.”
There are nearly 30 million coronavirus cases worldwide, according to the Johns Hopkins University tracker, with 29,136,553 cases confirmed so far.
Also, current statistics indicate that the fatality figures globally have now risen above 925,000 deaths.
On Sunday, September 13, 2020, the WHO reported a record single-day increase in global cases as the tally surged by a further 307,930 infections in just 24 hours.
