Fani-Kayode To Southern Kaduna: We Are With You In Your Suffering
BY ISRAEL BULUS, KADUNA – Former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the South-east and South-west geo-political zones are strongly with Southern Kaduna people in their moment of grief.
Fani-Kayode, who stated this at Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) II, Kafanchan, in Jama’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State while addressing people of Southern Kaduna at a musical concert programme tagged; “One Million Peace Walk Southern Kaduna Musical Concert and Award, noted that the people of the zone have suffered enough.
He further told the people at the concert which was organized by One Voice Foundation In Collaboration with Arewa Music House that they should understand that they are not alone in their struggle owing to the fact that he is with them and will continue to identify with them.
The former minister observed that Southern Kaduna people have continuously contributed their quota to the development of the country and deserved to be given fair treatment as Nigerians.
Fani-Kayode condemned in strong term what he described as the pattern of one sided appointment policy adopted by the present administration which according to him favors Muslims over Christians, stressing that the development is not suitable for a country like Nigeria that is multi-cultural and multi-religious.
He advised the people to wake up, take their destiny in their hands and vote credible leaders that have policies that are peaceful and people oriented, adding that good governance is leading the people with equity and justice, in addition to protecting and defending them anytime the need arose.
Fani-Kayode said that any government that fails to adhere abide by the principle of justice and equity in administering the citizens, should be changed.
Commenting on the suspension of the Chief Justice Of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnogen, Fani-Kayode said the development remains an embarrassment to democracy just as it is a barbaric treatment to an important personality at the wrong time.
He commended the organizers of the program which he said will go a long way in sensitizing the people on contemporary issues and therefore encouraged them to sustain the tempo just as he promised them of his unflinching support anytime the need arose.
The Guest speaker at the occasion, Pastor Anointed Paulhils said there is no justification for Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state picking a Muslim from Southern Kaduna as his running mate.
According to him; “Same event took place in Niger state and the Christians communities are suffering subjugation, intimidation and Churches cannot be built. We must resist evil through our unity as a people. The Government has meted all kinds of injustices to the people of Southern Kaduna.”
Paulhils urged the people of Southern Kaduna to vote for credible leaders that will protect their interest and save your land.
