The election, conducted in strict observance of the Federal Government’s COVID-19 protocols on public gatherings, saw all the Exco members returned unopposed
Held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Abuja, the poll, which had Nduka Chiejina re-elected as Chairman for a final three year tenure, was described as “free, fair and credible” by FICAN members present.
Other members of the team are: Biodun Dare – Vice Chairman; Abdulwahab Isah – General Secretary; and Benjamin Umuteme – Assistant General Secretary.
Also on board the Executive train are: Ayooade Olatokewa – Financial Secretary; Nse Anthony – Treasurer and Elizabeth Atte – Public Relations Offcer (PRO).
After taking their oath of office, FICAN members generally tasked the newly elected Executive Committee to work selflessly for the Association’s growth and overall interest of members.
Lending his voice to the members’ charge, a former Chairman of the Association, Cobham Nsa tasked the new EXCO to always protect all members, especially the weak.
He also pleaded that the welfare of members should always enjoy priority attention in the scheme of things
Speaking on behalf of the new Executive, Chairman Nduka Chiejina thanked members and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them
According to him, the EXCO would not relent in defending and protecting the interest of all members, assuring that the next three years would witness renewed commitment to attract better opportunities for all FICAN members and the association.
Assuring that the Executive would prioritise capacity building and empowerment of members going forward, Chiejina however challenged members to embrace entrepreneurship as a viable option for their financial security and stability.
For the three member Electoral Committee, popularly called ‘FINEC’, which had Chris Agabi, Tony Obiechina, and Sopeju Abiola, it was kudos galore from members for the hitch-free and successful delivery of their assignment.
