Former Chief Of Defence Staff, Badeh Killed By Gunmen Along Abuja-Keffi Road

The Nigerian Air Force has announced the unfortunate demise of former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Sabundu Badeh, who was killed on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from gunshot wounds sustained when his vehicle was attacked while returning from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola commiserated with the family of the late former Chief of Defence Staff over the irreparable loss.

Daramola on behalf officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, prayed that the Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest.

The Late Air Chief Marshall Alex Badeh was born on January 10, 1957 in Vimtim, Mubi Local Government Area of Adamawa state and was educated at Vimtim Primary School and Villanova Secondary School and obtained his secondary school certificate in 1976.

He gained admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1977 as a member of the 21 Regular Course and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer on July 3, 1979 after which he commenced his flying career at the 301 Flying Training School on the Bulldog Primary Trainer aircraft in 1979. Between 1981 and 1982 Badeh attended the Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base in the United States Air Force. He also went to the 301 Flying Training School (FTS) as a squadron pilot and later became an instructor pilot on the Bull Dog and DO-228 aircraft.

Badeh rose through the ranks to become Air Vice Marshal in 2008.
