The Management of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars Football Club, has suspended the its Technical Adviser, Ogenyi Evans, and Chief Coach, Ahmed Garba, with immediate effect.

A statement by the management said the decision to axe both officials was based on the Club’s underwhelming results and disappointing start to the ongoing 2025/2026 NPFL season.

It explained that the performance posted by the Club since the new season began has continued to fall short of the expectations of both fans and stakeholders.

At present, the Club, nicknamed ‘Sai Masu Gida’ by their ardent supporters, have played eight matches, with only two wins, two draws, and four losses, a performance the club described as ‘unsatisfactory’ for a team of its calibre.

The statement further said that in the interim, former Club captain and assistant coach, Gambo Muhammad, will take charge of the team’s technical duties alongside goalkeeping coach, Suleiman Shuaibu, while Coach Garzali Muhammad (Kusa) from the Junior Pillars will join the technical crew in an ad hoc capacity pending further directives.

While reaffirming its commitment to reposition the Club for better results going forward, the Management assured that everything would be done to maintain its reputation as one of the most successful football clubs in tbe country.
