La Liga: Barcelona Humiliate New Comers, Huesca 8-2

Spanish Champions, FC Barcelona romped to their third straight win with both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scoring twice to help the Blaugrana overcome a surprise early deficit at Camp Nou.

The Coach Ernesto Valverde-led Barcelona side stumbled early before breezing past Huesca in a dominant victory that exposed the newly promoted minnows to the harsh reality check in an 8 – 2 baptism of fire on Sunday.

On their first La Liga trip to Camp Nou, Huesca briefly continued what has been a dream start to the season by sensationally opening the scoring through Juan Camilo Hernandez.

However, the impressive early start was short-lived and proved little more than fleeting joy as Messi, Suarez and a Jorge Pulido own goal swiftly erased the concerns posed by the visitors.

Alex Gallar did give Huesca a second reason to celebrate late in the first half before the gulf in class became evident over a one-sided second period.

Messi and Suarez completed their braces at either end of the half and Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic and Jordi Alba, all joined in the fun as the hosts comprehensively maintained their perfect start to the campaign

With this victory, Barcelona will look to continue the impressive form in their next match against Real Sociedad, while Huesca welcome Rayo Vallecano to their stadium.

Though not given a chance to flourish in this match, Huesca were pleasantly surprised at times as their passing, when on the ball, was confident in the face of such experienced opposition and Juan Hernandez’s early goal broke Barcelona’s clean-sheet streak. Indeed, there is much lessons for Huesca’s manager to draw from as they go forward in their first ever La Liga campaign.

Overcoming the shock of going down early in the encounter, Barcelona really turned on the style in the second half and put their visitors to the sword. The slow start may have given the champions early nerves, but there was no doubt about the result after the teams emerged from the dressing rooms after the interval.  – With agency reports
