Nasarawa Govt Partners Kuwait On Oil Exploration

FROM AHMED TUKUR LAFIA – The Nasarawa state government is to partner the State of Kuwait for oil exploration in Keana Local Government Area of the state.

According to Governor Abdullahi Sule, the move is part of his administration’s conscious efforts at boosting the State’s revenue base

Governor Sule spoke on the partnership when he paid a condolence visit to the Nigerian Ambassador to Kuwait, Abdulaziz
Albishir, over the death of the late Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-ahmad Aljabar, in Kuwait embassy Abuja,

Represented by his Senior Special Assistant, Abuja Liaison, Yusuf Maianguwa, the Governor eulogized the late Emir and urged the new Crown Prince, Alsabar Nawaf to sustain the partnership and ensure cordial relationship between Nigeria and Kuwait continues.

“We lost a great leader, who restored Kuwait International relations after the Gulf war. The late Emir of Kuwait also served as a key mediator in Qatar diplomatic crisis, as an International Humanitarian”.

The governor said his visit was mainly to condole the people and government of Kuwait on their irreparable loss.

He further noted that despite the sober moment, the occasion also presented an opportunity for both sides to engage productively with the Nasarawa state government formally presenting new business opportunities abound in the state to the Kuwaiti government.

“It is our hope and expectation that Emir Nawaf will not only continue but sustain the existing partnership and bilateral relationship between Kuwait and Nasarawa State, Nigeria, especially given oil discovery in Keana Local Government Area of the State”.

“We strongly believe that Emir Nawaf will join hands with us in our quest to ensure that Nasarawa State join the league of oil producing states in Nigeria”.

“Already exploration work is ongoing by the NNPC workers which have reached an appreciable stage”, he said
