Power Outage: Buhari Uses Flashlight To Read Speech

Prominent guests who attended the commissioning of the commissioning of Abuja Mass Rail Transit (ARMT) were thrown into confusion on Thursday after five-minute power outage that forced President Muhammadu Buhari to resort to a flashlight to deliver his keynote address.
The tent that was used as venue of the event went dark after the Chief Host and Minister of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Mohammed Bello, and the Chinese Ambassador, Zhou Pingjian, had delivered their speeches.
However, immediately President Buhari was invited to the podium for his address, there was a power cut that eventually turned the venue of the event into a murmuring square for over a minute. Some guests were stunned in disbelief as they suggested that the power outage may have been an attempt to sabotage the occasion.
What really calmed the tense atmosphere is the quick decision by Buhari to go ahead with his speech, using a battery powered public address system.
Before the President ended his keynote address, power was restored after about five minutes of power outage.
