A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has declared that the purported peace meeting between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike and his loyalists was simply targeted at cornering the resources of Rivers State to themselves to the detriment of the development of Rivers State.

Eze particularly said that the meeting was targeted at intimidating Governor Fubara in order to impose some undemocratic elements on him as his commissioners and aides.

The erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), stressed that with the calibre of persons in the said meeting, the aim of such a meeting should be very visible even to the blind.

The ACP chieftain therefore dismissed the peace meeting, saying that pictures flying in the media space, merely showed a visit by a delegation of political touts led by the FCT Minister and his gutless loyalists, to the Governor and nothing more.

He further said that from pictorial excerpts, it is unreasonable for anyone to genuinely arrive at the conclusion that a courtesy visit by the group would mean peace a meeting with Governor Fubara.

Eze emphasised that a genuine conflict resolution effort or peace meeting in the circumstance, would involve equal representation of the warring factions to assuage burning concerns and resolve conflicting interests in such a way that no one affected in the crisis would be left to serve as a lamb for sacrifice.

The APC chieftain particularly said that such meeting, if it were for peace would not hold without the presence of notable figures like the Secretary to State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie; former Deputy Governor, Sir Tele Ikuru, Dr. Sam Jaja, Dr. Ikanya Ibiamu, High Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe or some of the elders that stood with Fubara at the heat of the struggle to free Rivers State from the shackles of the destabilizing influence of the Wike.

In the words of Eze; “Though, Nyesom Wike has never be known as a peaceable fellow, so if anyone thinks that this meeting was for any peace then such a fellow doesn’t understand the situation.

“Assuming the meeting was for peace, forcing the Governor not to bring any of his associates simply exposes Wike as a tyrant and a nepotistic leader. It is left to the generality of Rivers State to find a way to free themselves and the State from such band of unprogressive elements.

“As much as I may not blame Fubara so much for this messy situation putting into consideration how he found himself at the spot where he is, I will urge all and sundry to continue to pray for him for divine wisdom to find a way out of this sad situation.

“Truly, Tinubu and Wike have made Rivers State a laughing stock before democratic and civilized states and how the State can come out of this is left to God and the people.

“But the Governor must thread with caution. The men around him in the picture from the meeting are enemies of the state and will remain so in the eyes of Rivers people,” he said.

Eze appeal to the church, caring and concerned Nigerians not give up on Rivers State, but to embark upon very serious prayer to free the State from satanic holds that are hellbent on strangulating her and looting her resources into private purses.
