The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa has been impeached.
Obasa, who becasme Speaker of the Lagos State House since June 2015 with the commencement of the administartion of the former Governor Ambode, was impeached on Monday, January 13, 2025 over alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office.
Following his impeachment, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Lasbat Meranda was elected to replace him as Speaker while the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon Fatai Mojeed was also elected as the Deputy Speaker.
