Supreme Court Adjourns PDP’s Case To May 25

The Supreme Court has adjourned hearing on the matter concerning who is the legal National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to May 25, 2017 for further hearing.

The previous panel headed by Justice Tanko, which also had Justice Mary Odili, among others, is no longer in charge of the case. A new panel of Supreme Court Justices has been constituted to go on with the matter.

In a motion brought before the court by factional PDP chairman, Sen Ali Modu Sheriff, requesting the court to disqualify the CTC from appealing the judgement of the Appeal Court was heard and argued, but the court had asked the lawyers to submit written arguments before the next date.

During interactions, Sheriff’s counsel, Chief Akinlolu Olujimi (SAN) could not substantiate the locus by which he filed the motion asking the court to disqualify the Caretaker Committee’s appeal.
