Taraba: Four Suspected Kidnappers Killed In Gun Battle – Police
BY AMEH IDUJAGI, ABUJA – The Taraba Police command has confirmed the killing of four notorious suspected kidnappers by its operatives in Bali Local Government area of the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP David Misal, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Jalingo, said the suspected kidnappers were killed in their camp located on the mountain top in Kungana area of Bali Local Government Area.
According to Misal; “The DPO of Bali received a tip off that the kidnappers who have been operating within the area were hiding on the mountains and he quickly mobilized the police and Vigilante groups.
“On getting to the camp of the kidnappers on the mountain, there was a serious gun duel which led to the death of four of the suspected kidnappers.”
Misal further said that a dane gun, charms, pots of soup, solar panel and ammunitions were recovered from the kidnappers den.
The incident took place less than one week after the state police command constituted a Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad comprising operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad and the Mobile Police.
