Tribunal Judgment: Uduaghan No Threat At All – Sen Manager

Sacked Senator representing Delta South Senatorial district in the National Assembly, James Manager says former Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, is no match for him in a likely event of a re-run as ordered by the Election Petition Tribunal.

Reacting to Tribunal’s ruling that sent him packing, with an order for a re-run in 90 days, Senator Manager however said an appeal against the judgment was already on the way.

According to the embattled lawmaker, who boasted that the Delta South people are solidly behind him, there is no cause for alarm as his victory at the poll remains a certainty no matter how many times such an exercise is conducted.

He said; “I have been studying the judgement of the Election Petition Tribunal with my legal team for Delta South Senatorial District which sat in Asaba today. I have also read the reaction from Dr Emma Uduaghan (immediate past governor of Delta state)

“I want to firstly thank my dear people of Delta South senatorial district for your show of solidarity, affection, goodwill and support at this time as always.

“I am in a small corner laughing and I remain unperturbed. This judgement is certainly a miscarriage of justice and truly the tribunal erred in all fronts.

“We will definitely appeal the judgement. I want to urge my supporters to remain calm and patient for the outcome of our appeal for this is just a temporary setback.”

Thanking the people for their unflinching support over the years, Senator Manager maintained that; “Dr Emma Uduaghan is well aware that if the election is conducted 50 times, I will emerge victorious. We will triumph.”

The former Governor, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s candidate in the February 23 National Assembly poll, had approached the Tribunal, alleging electoral fraud that robbed him of victory at the poll.

Uduaghan, through his counsel, Thomson Okpoko, had sought the Tribunal’s relief to nullify Senator Manager’s election due to what they averred as “gross electoral malpractices” during the exercise.
