BY EDMOND ODOK, ABUJA – Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says his congratulatory message to President Muhammadu Buhari on the election Tribunal victory comes deeply from the heart.

The outspoken Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor said it was better to offer public congratulations than paying nocturnal visits to the President at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja

Governor Wike’s explanation of his action comes on the heels of negative public perception that he may have abandoned the PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to their fate.

According to him, unlike some PDP governors and other stakeholders, who visit President Buhari at night, he made his declaration public because it came from the heart.

The Rivers State Chief Executive, who congratulated Buhari after the Tribunal verdict, was inundated with negative media raves for his bold action.

In related development, immediate past Minister of Sports and Youths Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung has joined the growing list of well-wishers and political allies to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari for his well-deserved victory at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

Dalung said the victory further affirms that no individual or group of persons can stop what God has destined or approved for a man.

He gave kudos to Mr president, describing him as a man who has always worn ‘diligence, dedication and professionalism’ like a toga and wished him the best in executing the Next Level agenda for Nigeria.

The former Minister said, as an ardent supporter of Mr President even before winning the 2015 election, he has always believed in President Buhari’s integrity and capability to deliver on good governance to the Nigerian people.

According to the  Plateau State-born lawyer, these great attributes among others have been the driving force behind his unalloyed support for the president.

Dalung, who maintained in his congratulatory message that he will always mass among those that see Mr President as the beckon of hope for a greater Nigeria, said this informed his decision, even as a serving minister, to passionately take President Buhari’s re-election campaigns to all the nooks and crannies of Plateau state.
