Unknown Gunmen Kill Bauchi State House of Assembly Member
…Abduct his 2 wives, one year old child
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – Suspected gunmen whose number is yet to be ascertained in the late hours of Thursday stormed the country home of a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, representing Dass constituency, Hon. Musa Mante Baraza and assassinated him.
The Police Command in Bauchi confirmed the gruesome killing of Baraza as well as the abduction of his two wives and a one year old child who were taken away to an unknown destination.
The Police command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ahmed Wakili, who confirmed the incident while talking to our correspondent on telephone on Friday, said the member was attacked and killed by the yet to be identified suspected gunmen late Thursday night.
Wakili said that though the aim of the attack was yet to be ascertained, the gunmen are suspected to be armed robbers who invaded his house at the wee hours of the Thursday night.
He further said that the lawmaker’s two wives and one year old child were reportedly abducted by the gunmen with no trace of them established as of the time of this report.
The police spokesman however said that a crack team of Police personnel led by the Dass Divisional Police Officer have mobilized to the area to commence immediate investigation in order to be able to track down the gunmen.
