We’ll Provide Needed Dividends of Democracy Before 2023 – Governor Ishaku Assures

BY AMEH IDUJAGI, JALINGO – Governor Darius Ishaku on Sunday assured the people of the Taraba State of the determination of his administration to provide people’s oriented projects across the state before his exit in 2023.

The Governor, who gave the assurance in Takum, headquarters of his Local Government, said he has already completed about 700 boreholes while two hospitals would soon be commissioned in Bambur and Gembu in Karim-Lamido and Sardauna Local Government Areas respectively.

He also said that his administration has intervened in Takum General Hospital that is now providing quality service to the urban town and surrounding communities.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at a reception organized for him in Tukum, the governor said that apart from the health and water sectors, his administration has also turned around the education, agricultural and social sectors to improve the living conditions of the people.

Governor Ishaku, who visited his hometown of Takum, for the first time since his re-election in 2019, was received by a large turnout of his kinsmen, some of who climbed trees to have glimpse of their son.

The elated Governor told his audience at Rimi Primary School, Takum, venue of the reception, that many communities in Tukum, Donga, Ussa, Wukari and Ibi Local Government Areas as well as the Yangtu Special Development Area would soon enjoy uninterrupted power supply courtesy of the 40 Mega Watt electricity dam project that would soon be commissioned in Kashimbila, Takum LGA.

He said his administration is liaising with relevant federal authorities and the World Bank to improve irrigation activities and water supply to the rural communities since Kashimbila project is a multi-purpose one.

Governor Ishaku, who is in Takum to vote in the upcoming Local Government Council Election scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2020, called on the people of the area to conduct themselves peacefully as they elect candidates of their choice. 

Traditional dancers and other cultural displays added colour to the event.
