The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, has described former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd) as an elder statesman and distinguished national leader whose contributions to Nigeria’s development, unity and progress remain significant.
Dr Tsenyil, who stated this while extending warm felicitations to General Babangida on his 85th birthday, said that he was particularly proud that General Babangida is a distinguished son of the North Central region whose years of service and leadership have contributed to shaping the nation’s political and socio-economic development.
Dr Tsenyil, who extended the congratulatory message on behalf of the Governing Board and Management of the NCDC, celebrated Babangida for his commitment to national development and for providing leadership anchored on the ideals of national unity, peace, development and inclusion.
The NCDC Chief Executive also expresses the Commission’s deep appreciation to Babangida for opening his arms to the Commission and demonstrated his commitment to supporting the Commission as it works to fulfil its mandate of driving sustainable development across the North Central region.
Tsenyil noted that the willingness of the former military President to offer valuable counsel, wisdom and support is a great encouragement to the NCDC, particularly as it continues to establish strong foundations for effective regional development.
In the words of Tsenyil; “The experience and statesmanship of General Babangida ((retd) remain invaluable to the North Central region and Nigeria at large.
“The NCDC looks forward to benefiting from his wise counsel and continued support in its efforts to transform the region and contribute to national development”.
Dr. Tsenyil prayed Almighty God to continue to grant General Babangida good health, wisdom and strength, and bless him with many more years of peace, fulfilment and service to the nation.
