BY EDMOND ODOK – President Bola Tinubu has saluted the Super Eagles for their emphatic 4-1 victory over Gabon in Thursday’s FIFA World Cup qualifying Africa playoff match with a charge that the players keep their eyes on the prize.
For him, staying focused and building on the victory will enable Nigeria grab the much-needed ticket to the 2026 World Cup that would be hosted by the trio of United States, Canada and Mexico.
The President described the Super Eagles’ performance as a clear expression of the Nigerian character that rises, adapts, and prevails in difficult situations.
Also noting that the team played with courage, balance, and precision, President Tinubu reminded the team that football has always been one of Nigeria’s most potent symbols of unity and shared pride.
