10th Assembly Inauguration: Imo APC Loses Supporters In Auto Crash

Ahead of today’s inauguration of the 10th Assembly, some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) traveling from Imo State to attend the ceremony have died in a road accident.

A spokesman of the ruling APC in Imo State, Cajetan Duke, said the vehicle conveying the Party’s members and supporters had a head- on collusion with another bus at Agbor in Delta State.

According to him, only two persons were confirmed dead on the spot, but other sources hinted that three persons died in the bus while others were rushed to hospitals after sustaining various degrees of injury.

He described the incident as “a sad development” for the Party as the accident victims were men and women who gave their all to ensure electoral victory for APC in the State.

Reports indicated that two males from Amaraku community in the Isiala Mbano LGA of the state and a female from Ogbor community in the same Isiala Mbano LGA, died in the auto crash.

It was further learnt that the victims were coordinators of the Senator-elect for Imo North, Patrick Ndubueze and House of representatives member- elect for Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Miriam Onuoha.
