Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, the member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Hon James Faleke, on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The National Organising Secretary of the ruling APC, Mr Suleiman Argungu, who is in-charge of sale of the forms, presented the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to Faleke, who is also the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke before collecting the forms, presented a Bank draft valued at N100 million on behalf of President Tinubu, thus commenced the journey for Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had scheduled the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections is scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
INEC also directed that party primaries, including the resolution of related disputes, will run from April 23, 2026, to May 30, 2026.
The electoral commission also directed that campaigns for election for the presidential and National Assembly will begin on August 19, 2026, while that of the governorship and state assemblies will commence on September 9, 2026.
