A former National Secretary of Labour Party (LP), who is a constitutional lawyer, Dr Kayode Ajulo has appealed former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida to as a matter of national interest and concern, counsel All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to drop his ambition.

Ajulo specifically said General Babangida should make Tinubu realize the need for him to step down his ambition for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, who seems to be better placed, fit and physically balanced for the exalted job.

Ajulo, gave this advice against the backdrop of Tinubu’s visit to Babangida in Minna on Thursday afternoon, said that the former President would do the nation a lot of good if he can make Tinubu see reason why he should drop his ambition.

Ajulo further said; “It would be recalled that former President Babangida in 2007 after signifying his interest in running for the office of the President withdrew the bid for President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on the grounds that Yar’Adua was his younger brother.

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the political leader of Prof. Osinbajo. In fact, he was a major influence on how the VP got his present position and I am sure he is proud of his numerous achievements.

“Asiwaju will do well to throw his weight behind the Prof Osinbajo to become the next President,” he said.
