BY OSBERT TOR-NAJIME, MAKURDI – The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Kolawole and some leaders of the House, on Thursday stormed Benue State in continuation of lobby and campaign for the presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Hon. Kolawole and his team visited Governor Samuel Ortom at the Benue People’s House, Makurdi and were received by the Deputy Governor, Mr. Benson Abounu,
The Kogi State delegation which was led to the Benue State Government House, Makurdi by the Speaker of the Benue State, said they were in the State as part of the consultations as well as seek support of the political leadership in Benue State for Governor Yahaya Bello in the 2023 Presidential election.
Hon. Kolawole specifically told Governor Ortom, who was represented by his deputy, Mr. Abounu that they were in the state to interface with their colleagues in the House, and seek their support and that of the people of the North Central geopolitical zone for the candidacy of Governor Bello.
Responding, Governor Ortom welcomed the team to the state and wished them well, saying that it was heartwarming that though they belong to different political parties, they still visited him.
The governor however said that the question of who occupies what leadership position in 2023, rests solely with God.
