2023: Let’s Forgive, Support Tinubu For Presidency – Oshiomhole Begs Aggrieved APC Members
- Relives his removal as Party Chairman
BY VICTOR BUORO – Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has begged all aggrieved members to bury the hatchet and support the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to win the 2023 election.
Oshiomhole said the only way Tinubu and the APC can win the presidential election is for all party members and stakeholders to be united in pursuit of the project.
Addressing a stakeholders’ meeting in Benin, the Edo State capital at the weekend, Comrade Oshiomhole said it is urgently important for all aggrieved APC members to lay aside their differences and work for the party’s progress and overall good.
“The primaries are over, and the candidates have emerged. We need to put away our differences that came at the primaries and queue behind our candidates, beginning with our presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, for two-time Governor of Lagos State and the party’s national leader.
“The aggrieved members of the party should learn from my act of political tolerance when I was ousted from office as the national chairman of the party”, the former Edo State Governor said.
He urged everyone wronged and unhappy with certain happenings within the ruling party to take a cue from his reaction and statesmanlike disposition after being removed as APC National Chairman and work for the party’s progress.
Specifically making reference to events surrounding his contentious removal from office as the party’s National Chairman, the former Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President said; “I had the opportunity to seek redress, which would have stalled the party’s congress, but I didn’t.”
Comrade Oshiomhole therefore warned that going into next year’s elections as a divided house would be costly if members keep harbouring grievances against the party and its leadership for perceived injustice and wrong done to them.
