BY SEGUN ADEBAYO – Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed veteran journalist and former Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Chieftain, Mr Amos Dunia, as his Special Adviser on Public Affairs.
A statement signed by Richard Ihediwa, Director of Strategic Communications, MDPCO, said the appointment takes immediate effect as Makinde ramps up his communication strategy ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The statement described Dunia as a seasoned professional, publisher, media executive and communication expert, who brings decades of dual experience across Nigeria’s print and broadcast sectors to his new appointment as part of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organization (MDPCO).
He previously worked with major media institutions, including the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), New Nigerian Newspapers (NNN), The Sun Newspapers, and Blueprint Newspapers. He is also the co-founder of Forefront Magazine and online portal.
Beyond the newsroom, Dunia has a robust history in media unionism. A former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council he held several other positions within the national body before being appointed as the Union’s National Consultant on Politics and Union Matters.
Clearly, a strategic boost to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) political family, Mr. Dunia is officially stepping into the spotlight as campaign spokesperson, joining a high-powered coalition of experts tasked with driving the Makinde/Daura “Reset Nigeria” agenda towards ensuring victory for APM in the 2027 Presidential election.
With the high-stakes 2027 presidential election fast approaching, Dunia and the campaign team are aggressively pivoting toward a high-octane, reform-driven agenda and the mission is clear: disrupt the established political order, rewrite the nation’s trajectory, and convert rising voter frustrations into a definitive landslide victory at the polls.
Meanwhile, the Presidential Candidates charges all members of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign, leaders, teeming members, supporters of the APM and indeed all Nigerians to remain steadfast in the collective quest to use the 2027 Presidential election to Reset and put our nation back on the path of stability, national cohesion and economic prosperity.
