Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that no opposition political Party can win the 2027 Election without an alliance and or an uprising.

This was as he noted that the grip on power by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unshakable.

The former president pointedly said that there is no way any individual opposition candidate—be it former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, or Rabiu Kwankwaso can defeat President Tinubu in 2027 without what an alliance or a “political war”.

Obasanjo, who expressed his concerns at a closed-door meeting with some political allies, which leaked, described President Tinubu as “more dangerous than all African presidents and even Hitler.”

Former president Obasanjo was quoted as having said; “The current structure of Nigerian politics and Tinubu’s strategic control of key institutions make it impossible for any single candidate to unseat him in 2027, regardless of popularity, policy, or performance.

“For Tinubu to be defeated, there is the need for a powerful, unified coalition if any hope of regime change is to be realized.

“Let no one deceive you—neither Atiku, Obi, nor Kwankwaso can defeat Tinubu on their own. If they do not unite, they will fail again, and Nigerians should simply allow Tinubu to finish his eight years,” he said.

Commenting on the State of the Nation, Obasanjo said that Nigeria is not normal, just as he described present political climate in the country as abnormal, stressing that there is widespread of economic hardship, institutional decay, and civil discontent.

The former President noted the obsession with social media activism and tasked Nigerians to shift from emotional reactions to strategic political planning.

In the words of Obasanjo; “Sometimes, abnormalities are needed to restore normalcy which requires that extraordinary steps, possibly including civil resistance or sweeping political reforms, may be necessary to salvage the country’s future”.
