Abducted Kebbi Female Students Regain Freedom

The female students abducted from the Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, have regained their freedom.

Their release was accomplished through what a security source described as ‘non-kinetic approach’ adopted by the Federal Government.

This was as it was further gathered the successful release of the female students that were kidnapped last week Monday, November 17, 2025, was coordinated by some highly skilled officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS).

 Security sources said that the use of the non-kinetic approach, which typically involves dialogue, negotiation, and confidence-building measures as against military action, underscored the government’s shift toward resolving mass abduction crises through peaceful means.

The abduction of the female students, which followed similar incidents in the region, drew widespread national and international concerns.

The development prompted a decisive operational order by the Chief of Army Staff who directed troops to intensify search-and-rescue efforts.
