Adamawa N100Bn Aric Bond Not Yet Accessed – Governor Fintiri
Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, has said that contrary to speculations, the 100 billion naira Agic bond applied for by the state government is yet to be accessed.
Governor Fintiri, who stated this on Friday through his Director General on Media, Mr. Kumangar Solomon, explained that even when it is to be assessed, not all the money would be accessed in one fell swoop as it is a four years bond plan that will see the state government accessing 25 per cent of the total sum every year.
Kumangar gave the clarification on Friday while reacting to insinuations by the former member representing Hong State constituency, Mr. Wafari Theman, who alleged that the Fintiri administration has lost focus, adding that the Adamawa State House of the Assembly quickly passed the 100 billion naira bond request without verification.
But, the media aide to the Adamawa governor, pointedly said that Theman merely speculated and grossly misrepresented facts about Governor Fintiri’s 100-billion naira agric bond.
He further said that Theman, who is the RIFAN co-ordinator, Adamawa state, clearly distorted facts about the agric bond just to score cheap political point.
In the words of Kumangar; “Wafari Theman is either ignorant or playing petty politics. The 100 billion naira in question has not been accessed yet, nor will all the money be accessed in one fell swoop.
“It is a four years bond plan that will see the Adamawa state government accessing 25% of the total sum every year.
“Theman chose to advertise his ignorance on what he knew nothing about. Being an apron string of APC cannot guarantee him zero chance of getting an inch close to his party’s ticket in 2023.
“It seems no one clarified to the one-time member of the Adamawa state House of Assembly how bonds work.
“If the House of Assembly decided not to be at logger head with the current administration, does it call for Wafari Theman’s lamentation?” he asked.
Kumangar said it is left to the State legislature and the electorate to assess how the bond will affect their daily living and not for an attention-seeking apron string like Wafari to cry wolf.
According to Kumangar; “The joke is not on Governor Fintiri but on Wafari for attempting to make ignorance fashionable.”
