Adamawa Police Command Parades 40 Kidnap And Cattle Rustling Suspects
BY AUSTIN AJAYI, YOLA – The Adamawa State police command on Monday paraded 40 suspects alleged to have been committing various crimes that include cattle rustling, kidnapping and culpable homicide across the state.
While parading the suspects at the State Police headquarters, Yola, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Aliyu Adamu, said the police in collaboration with local vigilantes achieved the feat in coordinated operations across the state.
CP Adamu said that items recovered from the suspects include; eight AK 47 rifles, one locally made pistol, one Sharon bus and cash of over N1.1 million.
The police boss further said; “The command’s anti-kidnapping unit and other tactical units in compliance with my directives in my maiden address collaborated with professional hunters being our critical stakeholders in our policing strategy were deployed to Chigari, Yadim, Wuro-Bokki, Sigire, Nassarawo Jereng villages of Fufore, Mayo-Belwa, Song, Mubi Local Government Areas.
”On the strength of the tipped off, 40 suspects were arrested in connection with kidnapping activities, cattle rustling and culpable homicide across the state while, eight AK 47 rifles, one locally made pistol, one Sharon vehicle and cash of N1.130 million were recovered.
Adamu expressed appreciation to members of the public and assured that the suspects will be diligently prosecuted on completion of investigation.
