Afam Osigwe Wins NBA Presidency

Mr Afam Osigwe, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has emerged as the president-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) election.

Osigwe, who was General Secretary of the NBA, won the 2024 election that was conducted online.

The voting which commenced at 12am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, came to a close at 11.59pm with the live results for all positions presented at https://go.ecnba.org/results/

At about 12am on Sunday, Mr Osigwe was announced as winner having polled a total of 20,395 votes to defeat his closest rival, Tobenna Erojikwe, who is the chairman of the NBA-Institute of Continuing Legal Education Governing Council, who recorded 10,970 votes while the former Chairman of the NBA, Lagos Branch Chairman, Chukwuka Ikwuazom, SAN came 3rd with a total votes of 9,007.

With the results and outcome, Osigwe SAN, is set to succeed the outgoing NBA president, Yakubu Maikyau, SAN.
