AFCON 2021: 13 Super Eagles’ Players In Abuja Camp

The three-time African champions, Super Eagles of Nigeria, have confirmed the arrival of 13 players in their Abuja training camp ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament that flags off in Cameroon on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Among the latest players currently with the Austin Eguavoen-led Eagles as they gradually prepare to challenge for continental glory in Cameroon are the Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye; Porto’s Zaidu Sanusi; Nantes’ Moses Simon; AC Omonia’s Francis Uzoho; Olympiacos’ Henry Onyekuru; and Slavia Prague’s Peter Olayinka.
Scheduled to jet out to Cameroon later this week in search of a fourth AFCON title, the Super Eagles are currently fine-tuning their preparations in the nation’s capital and the 15 players are still being expected in camp.
Nigeria will begin their AFCON campaign against Egypt at the Roumde Adjia Stadium on January 11, 2022, while also facing Sudan and Guinea-Bissau in their other Group D fixtures.
