- Says team embodies Nigeria’s resilient spirit
BY VICTOR OSOWOCHI – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has joined millions of Nigerians to celebrate the Super Eagles on their outstanding performance in winning all the three Group D matches to qualify for the last 16 round at the on-going 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Cameroon.
According to the country’s main opposition Party; “The performance of the Super Eagles is phenomenal to our nation’s morale as well as the determination of Nigerians to excel despite the sham, drudgery and broken dreams that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration represents.”
A statement signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Hon Debo Ologunagba further read thus; “The determination of the national team indeed points to the resilient spirit of the young people which the PDP embodies as evidenced by the election of a 25 years old youth, Prince Mohammed Suleiman Kadade, as our Party’s National Youth Leader at the October 31, 2021 National Convention.
“Moreover, the Super Eagles’ feat at AFCON also signposts the fact that no matter how hopeless our situation as a nation is in the hands of the APC at the moment, the youth present the assurance that there will soon be light at the end of the tunnel.”
The PDP urged the “Super Eagles not to relent but remain focused so as to lift the coveted trophy and bring greater hope and honour to our nation at the end of the tournament.
“Our Party calls on Nigerians to continue to pray for and encourage the Super Eagles as well as remain unwavering in their support of the PDP’s mission to Rescue and Rebuild our nation for the good of all.”
