BY CHAMBERLAIN ODEY, JOS – A consultant Gynecologist, Kenneth Egwuda, has said that genetics engineers have confirmed that “ageing will be curable by 2045”, while “death by natural process” will also be eliminated.

Egwuda explained that through research and advances in science and technology, genetics engineers have announced the “death of death”, which implies that except by “accidents”, death through natural ailments and deficiencies will sooner than later no longer be part of the human story.

Speaking at a public lecture on the “role of players in reproductive health technology”, at the University of Jos, Egwuda, who is also the IVP Specialist at ALPS Hospitals, Jos, said genetics engineers have also established that “immortality is real, and a scientific possibility that can come much earlier than originally thought”.

Egwuda said since the birth of the first test tube baby, Louise Brown in 1978 after her mother received IVF treatment leading to natural-cycle IVF without stimulation, a clinical and professional collaboration by microbiologists, biochemists, anatomists, and other players have advanced the cause of assisted reproductive technology phenomenally, with the effect being partly that the future of microbiology and biochemistry and allied disciplines is very positive.

He further said that natural sciences are charting the course of developments and innovations in modern medical sciences, with microbiology and biochemistry competing with anatomy and other medicine specifics in a raging medical revolution.

Egwuda said the Clustered, Regularly Interspaced Short-Pandromic Repeats, CRISPR, and the Assisted Reproductive Technology, ART, are monumental evidence of how players in the medical revolution have achieved a crack into Creation, as they can own and control genes, and reshape and reorder the world by influencing the human specie in terms of sex, intelligence, and elimination of disease transfer and genetic defects.

He also explained that these innovations in science and technology have guaranteed the future of reproductive medicine, as the CRISPR is a tool for editing genomes, correcting genetic defects, treating and preventing spread of diseases, to cure diseases, and also improve crop production, drought tolerance, and facilitating other nutrients in plants.
