…Says, hope is higher that Nigeria’s rescue is near

BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has said that the simmering agitations in the Party are a reflection of its credential as a democratic party.

Atiku particularly said that whatever the agitations of leaders and members of the PDP are, he believes they are borne out of a collective concern for the growth of the party and the country, stressing that he does not see a divided house in the PDP but an opportunity for the leaders and members to come together stronger and united.

He therefore assured that as a presidential candidate of the PDP, he shall ensure that he will do his all to bring the party together under a formidable umbrella.

The PDP presidential candidate also said that most noteworthy outcome of a democratic process is the greater possibility of conflict generation and crisis management.

The former Vice President, in a statement made available to Forefront News also said that one of the characteristic attributes of democracy that he admires a lot is that it is a system with an intrinsic asset of crisis management.

This is just as he said that a remarkable lesson that he has learned in politics is that in some instances, conflicts are healthy realities.

Atiku further said that instance, when conflicts arise out of genuine concerns about having an inclusive political process, it signposts the viability of that process and, more importantly, the eagerness of stakeholders to be active participants in the success of such process.

In his word; “As leaders and stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party, the simmering agitations in our party are a reflection of our credential as a democratic party.

“We must not lose focus of the bigger purpose of rescuing the country from the hardship that fellow Nigerians continue to endure under the ruling party.

“When the PDP gets better, the hopes in Nigerians gets even higher that rescue is imminent,” he said.
