In what took many residents by surprise, a planted bomb exploded in Okene, the headquarters of Okenne Local Government Area of Kogi State on Thursday morning killing three persons with several others injured.
The incident took place few hours to the scheduled official visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the State for the commissioning of some projects in the State.
Details of the bomb explosion were still sketchy as at the time of publishing this story but, unconfirmed reports indicated that part of the palace of the paramount ruler of Okene, the Ohinoyi was affected by the explosion.
It was not certain if President Buhari would be able to continue with the visit following the unfortunate incident.
