Akpabio Emerges Senate President of 10th National Assembly
Former governor of Akwa Ibom State and immediate past Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday June 13, 2023 emerged as the President of the 10th Senate.
Akpabio, who also served as Minority Leader of the 8th Senate of the National Assembly, defeated former governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, to emerge as the President of the Senate.
Akpabio polled a total of 63 votes while Yari scored 46 votes.
Immediately the results of the election were announced, Senator Akpabio took his oath of office and allegiance to become the President of the 10th Senate.
