Benue State Governor, Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia on Saturday morning completed the distribution of electoral materials for All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential primary elections at the State Secretariat of the party.
Governor Alia, who is the Benue central Returning Officer for the elections scheduled for today ensured the early and equitable distribution of the materials which started as early as 6:00am to all the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
The Governor had received electoral materials on Friday night at about 20hrs at the Government House and at about 10hrs, accordingly briefed and displayed the parcels before stakeholders at the State Party Secretariat.
Members of the State Working Committee of the party headed by Chief Benjamin Omale, all Local Government party chairmen, Local Government Executive chairmen among other stakeholders graced the occasion.
A statement by Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, stated that Rev Fr. Alia called for a peaceful exercise, insisting that the party is bigger than any individual and stressed that members of the party must continue working together.
Alia also charged Local Government Area Returning Officers to ensure the people have the chance to vote and choose the flag bearer for the party.
The Governor noted that the party has done so well by delivering for the people, and is ready to return to power at all levels in the coming elections.
