Alleged Suicide Bomber Arrested Inside Bank In Jos

But, for the eagle eyes and vigilance of some persons and security personnel within the premises of a bank located in the Dadin-kowa area of Jos metropolis, Monday, May 14, 2024 would have been a devastating and deadly day in Plateau State.

This followed the attempt by a yet-to-be-identified young man who was overpowered inside the bank with an Improvised Electronic Devise (IED) strapped round his abdomen and ready to be primed and detonated.

The unfortunate incident unfolded when vigilant some persons quickly alerted and drew the attention of security personnel to the young man with an IED strapped round his abdomen within the bank’s premises.

The early discovery of the alleged bomber, who confessed later confessed that he was sent to detonate the device as viewed in a video obtained by Forefront News when he was caught and his hands tied to his back by some youths around the vicinity, saved the catastrophe that he would have unleashed on the people.

The suspect was quickly rounded up with the aid of a rapid response team that subdue him and prevented his planned tragedy on the town.

This was as it gathered that the security men posted to keep vigil at the bank saved the lynching of the suspect as the police officers around quickly moved in and pleaded for his life to be spared to allow for thorough investigations which could lead to other arrests.

The tense situation almost degenerated as some of the youth that gathered wanted instant death pronounced on him by taking his life through retributive justice.

Following the intervention of the security personnel, the suspect was later handed over to law enforcement authorities for thorough investigation after he was tied and received some beating from the youths of the area.

A trending photograph of the alleged bomber showed that the improvised Electronic Device was strapped round the suspect’s abdomen.

As at the time of this report, the Nigeria Police Command in Plateau State command was yet to issue a statement on the development.
