ANAN University Appoints Prof Fodio Pioneer Vice Chancellor

BY AHMED TUKUR, LAFIA – The Governing Council, Association of National Accountant of Nigerian (ANAN), has approved the appointment of Professor Inuwa Musa Fodio as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of its University.

Fodio’s appointment was announced by ANAN President, Professor Muhammad Mainoma, a Professor of Accounting and Finance from University of Abuja (UniAbuja).

Owned by one of Nigeria’s two professional accountancy associations with regulatory authority in Nigeria, ANAN University was listed among the 20 new private Universities recently approved by the Federal Government.

A Professor of Accountancy, Fodio was former Dean and Head of Department, Accountancy in the Nasarawa State University and until his current appointment, a lecturer in the same Institution.

According to Prof Manoma, the Governing Council approved Fodio’s appointment after a careful assessment of his career records, progression and achievements.

He said the Council also approved the appointment of Architect Shehu Ahmed Tukur as a member of the Governing Council for his contribution to the institution.

Tukur, currently serving on several boards and organizations in the country, is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA).

Equally, Prof Mainoma, who is a former Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, also confirmed his nomination as Chairman, Board of Trustees, ANAN University.

He further announced that the University will officially commence academic activities in March this year with a full session for Accounting and other related courses.

The Governing Council Board chairman said all the appointments are with immediate effect.

ANAN prides itself as the only chartered professional accountancy body in Nigeria empowered by law to teach as well as examine all its students.
