APC Chieftain Accuses Buni Of Demanding Bribe From Ganduje
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Hassan Alwan has accused the Chairman of the Extra-Ordinary National Caretaker Committee of the Party and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni of demanding bribe from Governor Abdullahi Umaru Ganduje of Kano State.
Alwan, made the accusation while featuring on Channels Television political programme; “Sunday Politics” on February, 20, 2022, pointedly said that Buni is working hard to cast aspersion and destroyed President Muhammadu Buhari at all cost.
In the words of Alwan; “Buni demanded for money from Governor Ganduje to agree to give Certificate of Return to elected Party Executives in Kano State. That is what he has been doing. Buni is just working to destroy the APC.
“Buni does not want to go. He doesn’t want to leave the party because he is using the party’s platform to collect money from people that are contesting. That is what he is doing.
“When the judgment of Appeal Court came on Thursday and it was in favour of the Kano State Government, and the Kano Governor asked Mai Mala to issue certificate of return to the substantive chairman, do you know what he said? He (Buni) requested for money. He requested the Kano governor to give him money before he issues the certificate. Is that not fraudulent?
“His Excellency, the Governor of Kano state is alive today, Mai Mala Buni is alive, you could ask from them. He requested for money.”
He also accused Buni of a grand design to thwart the scheduled February 26, 2022 APC National convention in order to meet his desire running for the position of Vice President.
The Buni-led APC National Caretaker Committee has been enmeshed in an internal crises over the control of the party’s structures ahead of the 2023 election.
