The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, May 4, 2026, announced an extension of deadlines for the sale and submission of aspirants’ Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This was contained in a statement by Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the ruling APC, who also said that the party has equally adjusted its screening schedule in order to accommodate the revised timeline.
It was gathered that the decision for an adjustment in the scheduled time table followed the low level of purchase of forms, particularly the inability of some aspirants to have access to the forms as some State chairmen and leadership of the party are deliberately refusing to sell forms for some of the aspirants.
The APC said; “The sale of forms has been extended to midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while the submission of completed forms will now close at midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
“The screening of aspirants will take place from Friday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with the publication of screened aspirants scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026,”it stated.
