APC Group Seeks Review Of Supreme Court Judgement On Bauchi Governorship Election

A political movement on the aegis of Bauchi APC Concern has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ariwoola to as a matter of fairness, justice and democracy, order for the review of the Supreme Court Judgment as it concerns the Bauchi State Gubernatorial Case.

Spokesperson of the group, Comrade Abdullahi Dauda Little, told journalists at the end of the meeting of the national stakeholders of the group held in Bauch that while respecting judicial process, there were however concerns among stakeholders about the apex Court verdict.

Dauda Little said that several aspects of the case raised questions regarding the interpretation of legal precedents, adherence to due process, and the overall fairness of the trial.

The group was in a statement tagged, “Plea for urgent Restoration of Democratic Values and Fair Representation, Post Supreme Court Rulings,” said that it was imperative to ensure that justice was not only served but perceived as such by the public. According to Dauda; “In light of the aforementioned concerns, we urge a comprehensive review of the Supreme Court’s judgment on the Bauchi State gubernatorial case. This review is essential to uphold the principles of transparency, fairness, and the rule of law.

“We believe that a thorough examination of the case will not only address any potential discrepancies, but will also reinforce public trust in the judiciary. Our commitment to a just and equitable society requires us to scrutinize legal decisions to safeguard the integrity of our democratic institutions.

“After, all democracy is about the right of the voters not individuals for that we are advocating for a review of this matter, with the ultimate goal of ensuring justice is served and the democratic process is upheld.

“Instances of anti-party activities and questionable legal practices have left us disenchanted, endangering the very foundations of our democratic processes – processes that we, as responsible citizens, have ardently defended,” he said.
