BY VICTOR BUORO, ABUJA – The Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, has said that the party is yet to zone the presidency and other key public offices ahead of the 2023 elections.
Buni, who stated this while refuting media reports that the party has zoned the presidency to the southern part of the country, said there is no iota of truth in the story whatsoever.
Some sections of the media were on Wednesday rife with speculations indicating that the Buni-led caretaker committee had zoned the President to the South, Vice President to the North, Senate President (South) and Deputy Senate President (North).
Others include House of Representatives Speaker (North) and Deputy Speaker (South).
However, Buni pointedly said that the speculations were totally fabrications and did not emanate from the APC national secretariat.
In his words; “This is absolutely false! Where was it done and at what occasion? This is a mere fabrication of the writer’s imagination. It is completely misleading. It should be ignored”.
