APC Kano Ward Suspends National Chairman, Ganduje
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has been suspended from the party.
Ganduje was suspended by members of his ward, the Ganduje Ward in the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State on Monday.
The former Kano State governor’s suspension followed alleged corruption charges levelled against him by the state government.
The have similarity with the approach adopted by APC Ward officials in Edo State that announced the suspension of the former National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole in 2020.
It was gathered that the development seriously unsettled Ganduje, who is expected to appear in court in Kano on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 over corruption charges including bribery, diversion, and misappropriation of funds, and an alleged acceptance of $413,000 and N1.38bn an bribes levelled against him by the Kano State Government.
However, sources close to Ganduje, told Forefront that the immediate past Governor of Kano state is leaving no stone unturned to quell the internal insurrection against him, believed to be sponsored by some forces outside the APC in Kano State.
