…Says, it is generating negative attention on Nigeria

A Youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hyde Kalu, has sent a passionate appeal to the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the February 25, 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, to in national interest, discontinue the suit he filed against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the United States.

Atiku in the suit instituted in the United States, is praying the US District court to order Chicago State University which Tinubu said he graduated from, to release his (Tinubu), academic records.

In a statement on Monday, September 25, 2023, Kalu noted that Nigeria is being ridiculed in the comity of nations as a result of the legal dispute the former vice president instituted in the US.

He said that since the election has come and gone, and a president has emerged, there is therefore the need to plead with Atiku to discontinue the case in America for the sake of the country and in consideration of the friendship between him and Tinubu.

The APC Youth Leader also appealed to Atiku to allow the judiciary in Nigeria to decide disputes arising from the 2023 presidential election and not the United States courts.

Kalu explained that the appeal became necessary as a result of the negative attention it is attracting on Nigeria across the globe.

He said that he knows that Atiku is a patriotic Nigerian leader who has so much love for the country thus, in a position to save Nigeria from embarrassment.

In the words of Kalu; “I am sure that no Nigerian is happy with the way our country has been subjected to ridicule over the court ruling in the United States.

“For the love of this country and to spare Nigerians the shame of how this process may end, it is important that we plead with Atiku to drop that case and not allow us wash our dirty linens in the public.

“We are all patriots, and I believe that we can have a decent way of handling this matter and save Nigerians the shame of this impending embarrassment,” he pleaded.
