APC, PDP Bicker Over 2023 Polls In Bauchi
…As Senator Hamma Misau vows that APC will regain power
…No party can beat PDP, spokesman boasts
BY ADEYEMI AKANJI, BAUCHI – With clear two years to 2023, permutations ahead of elections have commence in Bauchi State particularly between te two dominant political parties in th State, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Already, various interests that are likely shape the year is gradually being displayed and taking shape as the two leading political parties, the APC and PDP in state are at each other’s throat over the possibility of what is likely to play out.
The APC which is in opposition in the state has vowed that it would wrestle power from the PDP which it accused of running a family and friends’ administration in the state.
The PDP did not waste time in responding to its main opposition’s jabs as it quickly responded with equal measures, saying that the APC is suffering from hallucination and the humiliation of its defeat in 2019.
Former Senator Isah Muhammad Misau while speaking exclusively to our correspondent on Sunday said: “We have seen what is happening in Bauchi State, the government is for family members, friends and cronies of the Governor. That was not what we bargained for in 2019 when we teamed up to bring him to power”.
But reacting to the allegation, the State PDP Publicity Secretary, Yayanuwa Zainabari said: “If he said so, he was right. Bala Mohammed is an indigene of Bauchi, born in Alkaleri, raised in Katagum, resident in Bauchi town, you can see that he belongs to everyone in the state including Isa Muhammad Misau. Therefore, he must carry everybody along in the scheme of things”.
Misau while throwing his punches at the PDP administration in the State, alleged that the ruling party cannot point to any project in the last two years, adding that most of the ongoing projects were started by the APC.
Again, Zainabari responded, saying; “That is simply put, dance of shame. In two years, what we have done is much than what they claimed to have done in 4 years”.
While Misau expressed confidence that the APC will defeat the PDP come 2023 because the ruling party has failed the people, the spokesman of the PDP declared; “it is the figment of his imagination. With what the PDP has done in just a few years, 2023 is a finished project for the party”.
Misau while calling on members of the APC to go out for the revalidation of their membership saying new members should go get registered, the PDP PRO called on the people of the state to continue to support the party as it continues to serve them.
